Welcome to Bay Meadows Farm’s Broodmares page!  Here you can learn more about our four fantastic broodmares, Denira, Majestic, Roman Holiday, Ramina, and Dressy Affair.  Scroll down for more info on our ladies.

Denira is a 2004 Hanoverian mare by De Niro out of Wiebke (Wertherson x Don Carlos). Like our other broodmares, Denira brings strong dressage lines with some outstanding jumper blood as well. We love the added jumper blood to our broodmares. Denira not only brings outstanding bloodlines to our program, but she is also a super high quality mare in her own right. She is very beautiful and correct, is a lovely mover, and is super sweet.

De Niro is referred to as “the embodiment of the Hanoverian stallion” and is an exceptional stallion of superlative type and performance.  In addition, there is hardly a stallion in existence that has had a greater influence in dressage competition sport and breeding alike than De Niro and his sire Donnerhall.

Denira’s dam sire, Wertherson, a stunningly beautiful son of the great Werther. Wertherson competed very successfully at the FEI level of dressage and is know as a sire of fillies

Denira is currently in foal to Sir Sinclair, Keur – Due May 2019!

Roman Holiday

Roman Holiday is a 2004 Premium Oldenburg mare by Roman Nature (Rohdiamant) out of Cortana (Cor Noir/Cor de la Bryere).

“Holly” is an exceptional Oldenburg premium mare who represents the ultimate in type and movement for dressage. She has three outstanding and correct gates which captivates your attention and epitomizes dressage movement. Holly herself is a premium mare who was the second highest scoring mare during her Oldenburg Mare Inspection in the country.

Holly is an incredible and proven producer of top quality offspring with three Premium foals to her name. Holly’s 2013 filly, Sandro’s Holiday by Sandro Hit, impressed the GOV committee with her beauty and movement, taking home not only Premium Foal but also Foal of Distinction and Champion Foal of the inspection. In addition, Holly’s 2015 colt, Koraggio, by Negro earned his First Premium status with the KWPN.  Holly’s 2016 colt by Richman also obtained his premium status and was named a stallion prospect by the Danish Warmblood Association.  Holly currently has premium offspring, including a stallion prospect, with FOUR registries; the GOV, Oldenburg NA, Danish Warmbloods, and the KWPN.

Holly’s presence and beauty is an outward reflection of her kind nature and amateur appropriate Character and Temperament. She is an easy horse to manage with a good brain that is passed onto her offspring.  Holly is currently excepted in three mare books; GOV, Oldenburg NA, the KWPN, and the Danish Warmblood book.

For 2019 Holly is bred to the impressive stallion, Franziskus, ridden and competed by Ingrid Klimke!  You can learn more about our In-Utero offerings here.  We think so highly of this cross, that we are secretly hoping for a filly to retain for our breeding program.

Holly's Recent Offspring:
  • Koraggio is a First Premium KWPN 2015 colt sired by the world renowned stallion, Negro, and is out of the premium mare Roman Holiday. This cross is destined to be a true FEI dressage prospect for any professional rider or an exceptional partner for an ambitious amateur. The foal’s type, international quality movement, and temperament will embody every dressage rider’s dream mount and rival any internationally bred horse. (Photo on Left)
  • Richland is a 2016 Danish Warmblood colt by Richman and has been designated a stallion prospect with the Danish Warmblood Association.  (Center Photo)

Darcy Diamond

Darcy Diamond is a 2007 imported Hanoverian mare by Diamond Hit out of a Cheenook mare. DeeDee has a super temperament, is very sweet and trainable, has a wonderful work ethic, and is always happy to please.  She was trained and showed through third level before suffering a career ending injury.

DeeDee is currently in foal to Foundation – Due June 2019!

Majestic is a 2017 KWPN filly by Florianus II (Florestan x Damenstolz) out of Divine ISF, Star (Rampal x Germus R).  We were so impressed with this filly, that we retained here for our breeding program and we see big things in her future.

We have Embryo Transfer plans for Majestic in the spring of 2019 for a 2020 foal.

Divine ISF, Star

Divine ISF, Star and Keur eligible is a 2008 Dutch Warmblood mare by Rampal, Crown, out of L. Titty 51 (Germus R).  Divine has sought after bloodlines as a rare daughter of the USET shortlisted and Grand Prix dressage Champion sire Rampal, Crown, and as a granddaughter of both the international Grand Prix show jumper, Germus R., and the iconic ‘Stallion of the Century’, G Ramiro Z, Preferent.

At the 2011 KWPN Keuring, Divine was 1st Premium, Champion Jumper Mare, and was awarded the Star predicate. In the 2011 KWPN-NA Top Five, she was the 3rd place Jumper Mare in North America. Divine is Keur eligible. She is an agreeable, sweet mare who is easy to work around with lovely, correct conformation. Divine’s 2013 colt, Intrepid ISF, by Judgement ISF, Crown was 1st premium at his Keuring and the 4th place Jumper Colt in the country for 2013.  In 2016, Divine had a lovely KWPN filly, Legacy, by UB40 who sold to a professional Dressage rider/trainer.

On June 6 – her due date I might add – Divine delivered a correct and very leggy filly by Florianus II who we named Majestic.  Majestic has been retained for our breeding program.

Divine's Recent Offspring:
  • In 2016, Divine produced a beautiful KWPN-NA filly, Legacy, by the KWPN stallion UB40 (Olivi, Keur x Michelangelo, Elite).  Legacy (pictured below) is a modern, long legged filly, who still maintains good bone and substance.  She is going to be a good sized mare, estimated to finish about 16.2+.  She is very outgoing, bold, and sensible.  She has powerful movement and very correct and animated gates with great leg technique.  The filly already exhibits both a strong push and the ability to sit.  She has a natural uphill way of moving with a very free shoulder. (pictured below)
  • In 2017, Divine produced a KWPN-NA filly – Majestic, by Florianus II (Florestan I/Damenstolz).  We were so in love with this filly, that we retained her for our breeding program.  So be on the lookout for Majestic!

Update:  Divine has been sold.

Dressy Affair

Lilly1Dressy Affair is a 2002 Thoroughbred Mare approved by the Oldenburg NA.  She comes from top sport Thoroughbred lines and has siblings performing at high levels in jumpers and eventing.  Her offspring tend to be well rounded individuals, capable of going in many directions.  She passes on her great temperament, scope, and great hind end activity.

In 2013, Lilly foaled a premium filly and high scoring foal of her inspection by Cor Noir.  Classy Affair was everything a breeder seeks with a warmblood and thoroughbred cross – athleticism, heart, courage, size and substance without being heavy, three quality gates, and lovely scope and jumping technique.  Classy Affair will be able to go in many directions and excel.

Update:  Lilly is retired from breeding and has been promoted as our head foal-sitter.

In 2015, Lilly foaled a custom bred colt by Parabol, Pollux (see photo below of chestnut colt).  As a yearling, he is super friendly, laid back, and appears to have all the athletic characteristics of his older siblings.  He’s one that will also excel in any direction.

In 2010, Lilly had her first foal, a filly by Edelweiss De Bonce.  Edelweiss de Bonce has an incredible jumper pedigree, but he himself competed to Grand Prix in Dressage under Catherine Haddad-Staller.  The filly, “End the Affair”, had her first foal in 2016 by Mannhattan – making Lilly a granny!  Here’s a photo of End the Affair and her 2016 colt by Mannhattan, Madhatter d’Avalon (Photo Credit to Jos Mottershed).  Isn’t he fancy!
